Monaghan Community Forum “Hands Together Project” Willow Trail

In 2009 Monaghan Community Forum was successful in procuring funding from Monaghan County
Council Peace 111 EU Programme for Peace & Reconciliation to run the peace project “Hands
Together”. The project aims were to create peace and reconciliation at a local level in Monaghan
through a series of Arts and Heritage Workshops and events. This project brought people from
different backgrounds together by common interest in communities and using these areas to create
lasting relationships

Beth Murphy of Willow Wonder proposed a living willow labyrinth to Monaghan county Council and
was delighted when she was given the green light as it had been a dream of hers for some time to
plant a living willow Labyrinth.

Willow Wonder were responsible for facilitating workshops in the following communities as part of
the “Hands Together Project”, Monaghan, Clones, Ballybay, Carrickmacross, Bawn and the Peace
Labyrinth at Castleblaney.
